About this role

The Azure Engineer optimizes, maintains, and supports complex cloud infrastructure including Azure native services and Azure VMware Solution (AVS). This role improves performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and security. It delivers top-tier support for mission-critical systems while aligning with organizational goals.

Daily tasks include evaluating and optimizing Azure infrastructure for performance, availability, scalability, and cost. Analyze resource utilization to recommend right-sizing and modernization. Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning across Azure and AVS environments.

Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams on troubleshooting hybrid cloud issues. Provide advanced support as an escalation point for complex incidents. Participate in root cause analysis, problem management, and maintain operational runbooks.

Automate provisioning with Infrastructure as Code tools and enhance efficiency through scripting. Implement Azure security best practices and support governance with Policy and RBAC. Stay current on platform updates to recommend new features for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, including cloud and virtualization platforms
Hands-on experience administering Azure environments in production
Experience supporting VMware environments, preferably Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
Strong knowledge of Azure networking, compute, storage, and identity services
Experience troubleshooting complex, multi-tier environments
Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset

Responsibilities

Evaluate and optimize existing Azure infrastructure for performance, availability, scalability, and cost efficiency
Analyze resource utilization and recommend right-sizing, architectural improvements, and modernization opportunities
Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning across Azure and AVS environments
Administer and support Azure native services including virtual machines, networking, storage, identity, and security components
Support Azure VMware Solution environments, including integration with Azure networking, storage, and backup solutions
Provide advanced, top-tier support for cloud infrastructure incidents and service requests
Implement and maintain Azure security best practices, including identity, access control, and network security
Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
