About this role

Senior Principal Engineer provides senior technical and people leadership for engineering domains within Digital Product Applications. This role owns delivery outcomes at scale, leads multiple teams or managers, and maintains technical credibility through hands-on engineering on complex initiatives.

Demonstrates hands-on expertise in modern software engineering by participating in design, architecture, and selective coding on critical projects. Leads architecture reviews, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure enterprise standards and best practices. Partners with Tech Leads and Architects to solve hardest technical problems and guide key decisions.

Leads and develops engineering managers and senior engineers while building scalable team models and talent pipelines. Fosters a strong engineering culture focused on quality and accountability. Drives partnerships with User Experience, Product Management, IT, Data & Analytics, and other teams to deliver digital products.

Owns delivery commitments, risk management, and operational reliability for major initiatives. Develops software development strategy and roadmaps based on business requirements. Expands engineering capabilities through data and AI-driven digital solutions for automated, personalized experiences.

Requirements

  • Hands-on expertise in modern software engineering with active participation in design, architecture, and coding
  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and architecture patterns
  • Experience leading architecture reviews, design reviews, and code reviews
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and guide key technical decisions
  • Knowledge of cloud-native, distributed, and high-throughput systems
  • Proficiency in ensuring engineering rigor across SDLC using metrics-backed decision making

  • Manage and escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes
