About this role
Join our Research & Development team as a motivated and enthusiastic Azure Engineer at Kinetic. Our hosting strategy has evolved from on-premise to cloud-based services on Microsoft Azure, serving around 60 hosted customers with more migrating yearly. This role supports consistent, robust, and efficient delivery while growing your cloud computing skills.
You will assist in developing and maintaining the Azure platform to increase engineering capacity and availability. Support implementation of Azure best practices to build organizational cloud knowledge. Contribute to efficient customer onboarding and utilize Azure data for decision-making and strategy.
Work within the Platform Engineering department, reporting to James Gallacher. Be proactive in problem-solving and part of an exciting cloud transition. Focus on continuous improvement of our cloud offering in a supportive R&D environment.
Grow through hands-on Azure experience and eagerness to learn. Exposure to cloud security, CI/CD, and virtual desktops enhances your contributions. This position offers skill development amid expanding customer migrations.
Requirements
- Solid foundation in cloud computing technologies with a focus on Microsoft Azure
- Basic understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements such as ISO27001 or PCI-DSS
- Interest in learning about automated CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with any programming language such as Python, Go, C#, or JavaScript
- Exposure to other cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Experience or interest in virtual desktop products like Azure Virtual Desktop or Citrix
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Azure platform to increase engineering capacity and improve platform availability
- Support the implementation of best practices for Azure and increase organizational knowledge around cloud technologies
- Contribute to improving the efficiency of the customer onboarding process
- Maintain and utilize Azure data output to support decision-making and strategy development
- Participate in migrating customer systems from on-premise to Azure cloud services
- Apply cloud security and compliance practices like ISO27001 or PCI-DSS in platform operations
- Explore automated CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment processes
