About this role
As an Experienced Data Engineer (Level 3) at Tecknoworks Europe, lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms powering critical business decisions. Act as a technical authority within the team and trusted advisor to clients, owning complex systems end-to-end. This role offers real ownership, architectural influence, and shaping cloud-native, AI-augmented data systems.
Design scalable, resilient data architectures aligned with business objectives and lead architectural decisions for complex platforms. Build and optimize batch, streaming, and real-time data pipelines while designing enterprise-grade data models. Ensure systems meet strict SLAs, reliability, and performance targets through proactive monitoring.
Implement data governance, lineage, quality standards, and compliance with security, privacy requirements at scale. Act as a bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders, translating requirements into robust solutions. Build trusted relationships with client technical and delivery stakeholders.
Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers, lead architecture reviews, and drive technical best practices. Evaluate and pilot new data and cloud technologies, apply FinOps principles, and promote AI tools in engineering workflows. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Expert SQL and Python
- Strong experience with distributed data processing (e.g. Spark)
- Hands-on experience designing end-to-end data platforms on Azure (expert) and AWS (expert)
- Experience with modern data tooling (e.g. dbt, Airflow/Dagster, Microsoft Fabric)
- Strong understanding of data modeling, performance optimization, and reliability engineering
- 4–7 years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles
- Proven ownership of production data systems with strict SLAs
- Strong experience using AI tools in daily engineering work
