About this role

ValGenesis is a leading digital validation platform provider for life sciences companies. Its suite of products is used by 30 of the top 50 global pharmaceutical and biotech companies to achieve digital transformation, total compliance, and manufacturing excellence across the product lifecycle. As Director of AI Engineering, you will own end-to-end delivery of AI products and solutions.

You will partner with Product Management to ensure on-time, high-quality releases aligned with customer and regulatory requirements. Drive execution of product roadmaps while overseeing implementation, integration, and validation of AI solutions in customer environments. Establish delivery best practices, KPIs, and governance checkpoints throughout the product lifecycle.

Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, legal, regulatory, and quality teams to define AI governance frameworks compliant with GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, and FDA guidance. Manage escalations on AI performance, compliance, and ethical concerns while leading customer onboarding and adoption strategies. Ensure seamless handoffs between product, delivery, and customer success teams.

Represent ValGenesis in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and customer workshops. Contribute to whitepapers, audits, and regulatory submissions while staying ahead of emerging trends in AI regulation and digital health. Gather customer feedback to influence product roadmaps and innovation priorities.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Life Sciences, Computer Science
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML and data science methodologies, including Generative AI, ML/DL, and statistical modeling
  • Hands-on or leadership experience in building, validating, and deploying machine learning models in production environments
  • Deep familiarity with MLOps practices, including model versioning, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, drift detection, and lifecycle management
  • Experience with modern data platforms and cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and scalable data architectures
  • Understanding of model explainability, fairness, and bias mitigation techniques, especially in regulated domains
  • Ability to engage effectively with data scientists and engineers while translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of AI products and solutions, from requirements definition through deployment and post-launch optimization

  • Drive execution of product roadmaps, ensuring alignment between engineering standards and delivery timelines
  • Oversee implementation, integration, and validation of AI solutions within customer environments
  • Establish delivery best practices, KPIs, and governance checkpoints across the product lifecycle
  • Define and operationalize AI governance frameworks aligned with global regulatory standards (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, FDA guidance on AI/ML)
  • Lead customer onboarding, adoption, and long-term success strategies
  • Represent the company in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and customer workshops
