We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial staff product engineer to join the founding team to lead the development of our core suite of backend services and platform. You'll partner with our CTO to make key architectural decisions, iterate on the roadmap, own product decisions, and architect and build our foundational tech platform.

You will architect core systems from real-time job matching algorithms to autonomous worker vetting pipelines powered by ML and AI agents. Orchestrate CI/CD workflows using Docker and Github, build analytics and monitoring, and drive backend performance optimization in a scrappy founding team environment.

Work through ambiguity in an early-stage engineering team as a self-starter, valuing clear communication, documented planning, and sweating the small stuff. Help scale the platform for the next several years while contributing to the future of flexible light industrial staffing.

Requirements

7+ years experience with Typescript/Node.js or Python, RabbitMQ or Kafka, and PostgreSQL or equivalent
A track record of shipping amazing products and leading projects at scale with high velocity
Expertise designing APIs
Experience with Docker, Github Actions, and Datadog
Experience working in an early-stage engineering team, working through ambiguity, and being a self-starter
Deep experience building full-stack web applications with expertise in APIs, data modeling, optimizing database queries, and scaling distributed systems
Voracious learner who loves diving into new areas and exploring new languages, databases, and technologies
Value clear communication, documented planning, transparent and frequent feedback, and sweat the small stuff

Responsibilities

Architect and lead the development of core systems—from real-time job matching algorithms to autonomous worker vetting pipelines powered by ML and AI agents
Own architecture decisions for our tech platform and advise key product and infrastructure decisions
Orchestrate our CI/CD workflows, using Docker and Github, and drive efficiency through automated testing
Build analytics and monitoring to help understand our user experience and application health
Drive backend application performance measurement and optimization
Contribute in a ton of other ways to a scrappy founding team building the future of flexible light industrial staffing
