Junior Data Engineer

The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain simple to moderately complex software programs and scripts under the guidance of a Software Engineer. This ensures adherence to agreed specifications, standards, and tools. It is a full-time employee position at QBE Insurance.

Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with the Software Engineer to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation. Develop and implement systems according to signed-off documents from the BA/QA. Respond to issues referred by team members and assist with their resolution.

Work closely with the Software Engineer to maintain consistency with security standards and provide regular updates to the Applications Development Manager. Undertake any other relevant duties as determined by the Lead/Senior Software Engineer. Escalate issues promptly while adhering to company methodologies.

Learn new development methodologies and initiatives to grow professionally. Continuously evaluate operational risks and improvement opportunities. Apply sound judgment to assess impacts and integrate risk thinking into daily decisions and delivery behaviors against plans by agreed dates.
